Hard Cap Technology
The Baltimore Toolworks Hard Cap ½" x 7" Cold Chisel is designed for cutting brick and concrete. Part of the company’s patented break-through Hard Cap range, the chisel has been developed to protect the user from the risks created during use.
An unbreakable DuPont™ polymer reinforced cap encapsulates the top of the chisel, which reduces hammer impact noise by 80%. This cap features a polyurethane disc that efficiently transfers the hammer blow, as well as providing a striking surface that is 2.5 times larger to reduce the chance of overstrike. The cap also prevents mushrooming of the head and eliminates flying metal fragments.
The shaft of the chisel features a cushion grip sheath that reduces hammer kickback and trauma to the wrist and elbow. The grip is also oil resistant and reduces hot-cold feel. The grip and the hard cap combined reduce the shock produced by striking the chisel by 90%.
