Available in either the straight claw format preferred by framers and structural woodworkers, including long handled or the curved claw style often chosen by finishers and joiners, there is a broad range of weights between 16oz to 30oz (450g to 845g) to choose from.
Handle options vary from the traditional leather preferred by certain craftsmen, to ergonomically designed anti-slip safety vinyl like Estwing's patented shock reduction grips that are permanently moulded and bonded to the shaft.
Innovative Work Hammers
The next generation of striking tools from Stanley and Spear & Jackson feature "Anti-Vibration" tuning fork technology. This lowers the transmission of vibrations that could lead to wrist or arm injuries. Drywall plasterboard and lightweight cross pin hammers are also available.

For club (or lump) hammers to suit lighter or heavier situations we have choices from 2lb to 4lb (905g to1815g), including one-piece anti-vibration versions like the FatMax or Spear & Jackson Rippa.
