These wood drilling auger bits are machined from high quality carbon steel. Minimum drilling effort is required, as the threaded centre point will pull the drill bit into the timber. The single spur starts the cutting and defines the hole giving you a clean finish, while the sharp hardened cross cutting edge removes the material left inside the hole.

The unique Step-In-Body design leaves a reduced diameter along much of the length of the auger bit resulting in faster drilling due to the rapid chip removal. This type of drill bit is ideal if you need to drill deep and clean holes in hard woods, soft woods and man-made boards. They are also an excellent choice if you need to drill larger diameter holes. Due to the threaded point you will have some breakout if you are drilling boards where the auger bit will pass all the way through otherwise you will achieve a clean-bottomed hole.

The drill bits can be used in hand braces and work extremely well in cordless battery drills. You must use these bits in drills that have a variable speed function on them, as they run at a slower speed than most drills. The hexagonal shank ensures that the drills do not slip in the chuck of your drill. As they can be sharpened you will enjoy using them for many years.
